Position Summary:
Develop and modify healthcare applications and systems using modern programming languages and database technologies, supporting VHA's mission to provide advanced healthcare technology solutions for veterans.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and modify web-based applications and client-server applications for healthcare systems
· Create OS scripts for process automation and system integration
· Implement and integrate COTS software into existing VHA architecture
· Plan, document, code, modify, test, and implement computer programs
· Document test conditions, create test data, and analyze programming results
· Perform analysis of program and production problems and develop solutions
· Use Systems Development Methodology for structured development approaches
· Analyze and design new system enhancements and modifications
· Work closely with users to define requirements and write program specifications
· Research new technologies and coordinate system testing with user acceptance testing
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
· Minimum 3 years of software development experience
· Proficiency with modern programming languages and development frameworks
